The Pit tells the story of the Koçova family, who rules over Çukur, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods of Istanbul. Torn between his love for Sena, his family and his neighborhood, Yamaç, the youngest son, has to drop his independent and careless life and go back to Çukur to become the head of the family. Both Yamaç and Sena, who get married on a whim, have no idea that their lives will never be the same.
